GCC Secretary-General hails relations with Jordan, Morocco

SNM- AMMONNEWS -Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Abdullatif Al-Zayani said there is a consensus among GCC countries to establish strong ties and strategic partnerships with both Jordan and Morocco.

Al Zayani denied a report published by an Arab newspapers on what had happened during a meeting of the GCC foreign ministers in Jeddah last September that discussed Jordan's membership in the GCC.

The Emirates News Agency (WAM) quoted the GCC secretary general as saying that the newspaper's report on the meeting is baseless and does not reflect the positive atmosphere that prevailed during the meeting.

"That meeting was followed by other meetings in Riyadh between senior officials and specialists from GCC countries and their counterparts from Jordan and Morocco to discuss programs, mechanisms and partnership between the two sides," Al Zayani added.
